"Papaya Recipes"

For breakfast you can scoop the flesh onto cereal as a natural sweetener, or you can use the papaya as a bowl and fill it with cereal and cream. It's delicious simply by itself or with lime or lemon juice for extra zip. And for something really special try strawberries!

For very ripe papaya, you can scoop out the pulp into a blender and freeze it for later use. Smoothies are a delicious way to use a papaya. Blend the puree with banana, strawberries, or other ripe fruits you like, add a little pineapple, or orange juice or any combination, to your taste, for a real energy boost. The puree can be used as a topping for ice cream, crepes, pancakes, waffles, or added to yogurt too!

For a luncheon, or a dinner special, try a Crab Louie, using the papaya shell as an individual serving bowl. Papaya adds an exotic taste to any fruit salad.

Papaya can also be added to stews. Using a green to half-ripe fruit helps tenderize and bring out the flavors. In addition, papaya can be used green much like squash, either steamed or boiled.

Baked half-ripe fruit with cinnamon is an exotic low-calorie dessert.

There are many other ways to prepare this exotic tropical fruit that is good for you.
